Four dead in Ukraine’s Kharkiv and Donetsk regions following Russian strikes

Two people were killed and four injured as a result of shelling in the Kruhlyakivka village in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, as per the regional governor Oleh Synyehubov.

According to him, a missile hit non-residential premises, leading to a large-scale fire.

Yesterday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a Russian guided air bomb had hit the blood transfusion centre in the Kupyansk district of the Kharkiv region, however he did not specify the exact number of victims.

Explosions in Kharkiv were also reported this morning. Per initial data, the shelling was carried out using the S-300 missile system.

Two people were killed and two injured as a result of shelling in the Donetsk region of Ukraine over the past day.

Two air bombs were dropped on the New York village, as per the Ukrainian National Police. As a result, one person was killed and two injured. Furthermore, over 10 houses and an educational building were destroyed.

In the Torske village, an air bomb hit a private house, killing a man.

Over the night, Russia conducted a massive strike on Ukraine, as per the command of the Ukrainian Air Force. Seventy shells, including drones and missiles, were launched in total.

It is reported that the attack happened in two waves. In the evening of 5 August, the Russian forces launched 14 Kalibr missiles and three Kinzhal missiles. The Ukrainian army was able to down 12 Kalibr missiles. There has been no information posted on the downing of the Kinzhal missiles.

The second wave took place during the night. The Russian troops attacked Ukraine from the south-east direction using the Shahed drones and from the Black Sea area using the Kalibr missiles. In the Caspian Sea area, Russian aircraft launched several Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles. According to the reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to shoot down all 27 drones, five of the six Kalibr missiles, and 13 of the 20 Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles.

Aside from the Kharkiv region, the Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions of Ukraine were also shelled by the Russian army.
