Russian student Olesya Krivtsova, 20-year-old accused of ‘discrediting’ Russian forces and ‘justifying terrorism’, put on wanted list

Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has put student Olesya Krivtsova, a 20-year-old accused of “discrediting” the Russian army and publicly “justifying” terrorism, on the wanted list, according to the ministry’s website, as per media outlet Sota.

On 15 March, the Telegram channel created in support of Olesya reported that she had fled Russia. “Hey, this is Olesya and I’m writing to you myself for the first time! I’m currently in Lithuania and can’t really believe that it’s all over. Thank you for your support!” Krivstova wrote.

She was confined to house arrest from the beginning of January 2023. Furthermore, the investigators wanted her to be put in custody.

Criminal cases against Krivtsova were initiated because of her Instagram Stories and messages in a private Telegram chat with her fellow students, in which she spoke out against the war.

On 10 January, Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service put Krivtsova on the list of terrorists and extremists.
