Ukraine executes another strike upon Nova Kakhovka

The town of Nova Kakhovka in Ukraine’s Kherson region, occupied by Russia since early March, suffered a strike last night, Interfax cites a local occupation “official.”

The occupation administration claims Russia’s air defence shot down five Ukrainian rockets; the debris of two of them later hit the Sokol instrument engineering factory. There is no data on any possible casualties.

Ukraine aims Russia’s arsenals with HIMARS, says Serhiy Khlan, a local official.

Nova Kakhovka suffered Ukraine’s strike not two days ago, on 12 June. The pro-Russian administration claimed several people lost their lives as Ukraine shelled the town with HIMARS multiple rocket launchers. Ukraine’s officials say the strike destroyed Russia’s arsenal.

A series of explosions was reported in Metalist and Oleksandrivka near Luhansk yesterday. A huge fire started in the area, and a rattling sound, presumably of exploding weapons, could be heard. The strike was confirmed by Oleksiy Arestovych, advisor to president Volodymyr Zelensky. The city’s military facilities were most likely shelled by nine HIMARS missiles.
