MPs of Russian Krasnoyarsk Region delete resolution to seize grain from Ukraine’s Kherson Region, say website was hacked

MPs of the Legislative Assembly of Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Region have deleted the message about the resolution on "expropriation of last year’s and this year’s surplus of crops in the [Ukrainian] Kherson region” from their website, claiming it was hacked.

“The official website of the Legislative Assembly was hacked. The news about alleged deliveries of crops from Ukraine is fake. It has been deleted,” local officials informed, adding that they will contact the police about the hack.

The now-deleted message informed that Krasnoyarsk Region’s MPs had “almost unanimously” supported the resolution on “expropriation of crops.”

“Since only one cucumber producing enterprise is functioning in our region and the lack of other vegetables and crops is acute due to the sanctions not only in Krasnoyarsk Region but at the federal level everywhere, expropriation <...> will be one of the tools to help small businesses and consumer cooperatives," the message said.

However, no documents on such an initiative were published on Russia’s official legal information portal.

On the evening of April 26, the Russian Defence Ministry announced that Kyiv had lost control over the entire Kherson region, as well as parts of the Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, and Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine.

Kherson has been under de facto Russian occupation since March 2.
