MPs in Russian Krasnoyarsk Region vote for 'expropriation of farmers' crops' in Russian-occupied Kherson region

MPs of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Region "almost unanimously" supported the resolution on "expropriation of the last and this year surplus of crops in the [Ukranian] Kherson region," the website of the local parliament said.

"The deputies at the meeting almost unanimously supported the decision to import grain from the Kherson region, which was partially taken under control of the Russian Armed Forces as part of the Special Operation on the territory of Ukraine. Since only one cucumber producing enterprise is functioning in our region and the lack of other vegetables and crops is acute due to the sanctions not only in Krasnoyarsk region but at the federal level everywhere, expropriation <...> will be one of the tools to help small businesses and consumer cooperatives," the official website of the parliament reads.

However, no documents on such an initiative have been published on the official legal information portal. Local authorities also did not report any website hacking.

The publication reads, that Vladislav Zyryanov, chairman of the Krasnoyarsk regional parliamentary committee for agro-industrial policy, said that the expropriation methods can be extended to other regions of Russia, "given that many suppliers of seeds and fertilizers leave the Russian market and the significant cost of heat and electricity".

He also suggested organizing supplies from other occupied regions of Ukraine.

On the evening of April 26, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Kiev had lost control over the entire Kherson region, as well as parts of the Kharkiv, Zaporozhye, and Nikolaev regions of Ukraine.

Kherson has been under de facto occupation since March 2.
