On 10 February, Russian troops carried out a massive attack against critical energy infrastructure facilities of Ukraine, Russia’s Defence Ministry reports in its daily bulletin.
According to the Russian agency, these facilities “operated Ukraine’s defence industrial complex and transport system”. The ministry states that “the railway redeployment of foreign armament, munitions, and reserves to the operations areas has been blocked”. The goals of the massive attack have been reached, according to the ministry.
Ukrainian cities were subjected to missile strikes yesterday, 10 February. Energy infrastructure was damaged, there are injured. The Kalibr cruise missiles launched by Russia travelled via airspaces of Moldova and NATO member Romania on their way to hit targets in Ukraine, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny said yesterday.
Earlier in the day, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote in its daily bulletin that Russian forces had launched over 100 missiles against critical and civil infrastructure on 10 February. Ukraine’s General Staff reported that 61 Russian missiles had been shot down by air defence. Furthermore, Russia conducted 28 air strikes using Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, 22 of them were shot down.
“Russian claims of the scale and effectiveness of the strikes are overblown in comparison to official Ukrainian statements, and Russian forces continue to expend already limited stocks of precision munitions on such strikes,” ISW notes.
