Governor: nine killed in Ukraine’s Lyman following Russian attack

At least eight people were killed by a Russian attack against Lyman in Ukraine’s Donetsk region; five more were injured, says local governor Pavlo Kyrylenko.

14:37 Moscow time The death toll has risen to 8, says Ukraine's Interior Ministry. A total of 13 people are reported injured as of now.

14:43 9 June The death toll has risen to 9, according to local governor Kyrylenko.

“Around 10 in the morning, the Russians used an MLRS to hit a residential area in Lyman. a house and a store building were damaged,” Kyrylenko wrote. Police and doctors are working on the scene.

Kyrylenko reported earlier that Russia had attacked Vuhledar 16 times in 24 hours. Five locals were injured.

Today is day 500 of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, has posted a video of him visiting Snake Island that was liberated from Russia’s military roughly a year ago.

Russia’s military attacked Ukraine with Shahed 136/131 drones overnight. A man, 26, was injured and admitted to hospital.
