Attacks on Russia: Four people injured in shelling of Belgorod region’s Shebekino. Oil refinery catches fire in Krasnodar region

In the early hours of 31 May, the town of Shebekino, Belgorod region of Russia, was subjected to massive shelling by Ukraine’s Armed Forces, with four people getting injured, the local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reports.

According to him, two of the injured people were hospitalised. The man is in critical condition with shrapnel wounds to his neck and back, while the woman suffered shrapnel wounds to her arm and forearm. Additionally, two women were provided medical assistance at the scene.

The head of the region said that the shelling had been conducted from a multiple rocket launcher BM-21 Grad. He also announced that the evacuation of children from the Shebekinsky and Grayvoronsky districts would begin shortly. The first 300 children will be evacuated to Voronezh today.

The governor of the Krasnodar region of Russia Veniamin Kondratyev reports that a fire erupted at the Afipsky oil refinery in the night as a result of a drone attack. One of the fuel oil distillation plants caught fire.

The fire was extinguished, no one was hurt, according to Kondratyev.

Later in the morning, it was reported that another drone had crashed on the territory of the Ilsky oil refinery, which is also located in the Krasnodar region.

“Around 4 AM, an unidentified UAV reportedly crashed on the territory of the Ilsky oil refinery. The vehicle broke down following the fall, the infrastructure of the refinery was not damaged, there was no fire,” the operational HQ of the region said in a statement.

No one was hurt. At 9:20 AM, the fallen UAV was destroyed by a bomb squad, for safety reasons.

Yesterday, 30 May, Gladkov reported that there were killed and injured following a shelling of a temporary shelter camp in the Shebekinsky district. One person was killed — the security guard. Two people were injured, they were hospitalised in critical condition.
