Kharkiv region authorities report two people killed in Russian airstrike

Two people were killed in an airstrike on the city of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region of Ukraine, head of the regional administration Oleh Synehubov reports.

“The bodies of two people — a 50-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman — were found during the search and rescue operations at the location of the airstrike on Vovchansk,” Synehubov writes in a Telegram post.

Furthermore, spouses aged 68 and 54 were wounded in the strike.

According to the local authorities, two residential buildings, outbuildings, and a market were damaged in the strike. Around 60 market stalls burnt down during the fire that resulted from the strike.

In the Petropavlivka village of the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region, at least five residential buildings were damaged as a result of shelling, with a 18-year-old young woman getting injured. She was hospitalised.

In the Dvorichna village of the same district, a 77-year-old woman was wounded. She was hospitalised in critical condition.

Yesterday, 18 April, Russian troops shelled Kherson, south Ukraine, killing one person and injuring nine more, the Kherson authorities reported.
