Car of Russia-appointed police chief blown up in annexed Mariupol

In the city of Mariupol annexed by Russia, the car of the city police chief appointed by the Russian authorities, Mykhaylo Moskvyn, has been blown up, sources for Russia’s state news agencies TASS and RIA Novosti report.

“In the morning, the car of police chief Moskvyn was blown up. He’s alive, everything’s ok,” TASS’ interlocutor claims, adding that the car blew up when Moskvyn was several metres away from it.

Ukrainian Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko says that the car was blown up by Mariupol’s resistance.

Last week, Serhiy Moskalenko, the chief of the regional pre-trial detention centre who was collaborating with the Russian occupation “government” was killed in the Kherson region.

“[Moskalenko] was a resident of Nova Kakhovka and the owner of the local security firm. During the occupation, he agreed to collaborate with Russians and was appointed as the so-called chief of a pre-trial detention centre where Ukrainian prisoners were subjected to inhuman torture,” the statement by the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine read.
