Russia uses Iranian kamikaze drones to attack Bila Tserkva near Kyiv

Russia has used Shahed-136 kamikaze drones it bought off Iran to attack the town of Bila Tserkva near Kyiv, as per Oleksiy Kuleba, the local governor.

“We had a few explosions in Bila Tserkva. Early indications are that the town was attacked by kamikaze drones which caused multiple fires, one person was injured,” he said.

An air raid warning sounded in the region at night. “Please do not neglect the sirens and proceed to shelters as soon as you hear it. Stay safe and take care of your closest ones,” Kuleba added.

Multiple Ukrainian Telegram channels reported explosions in the Kyiv region, assuming that Iran-manufactured drones were used. Bila Tserkva is located approx. 45 miles away from Kyiv and 120 miles from the Belarus border.

Ukraine reported taking down an Iran-manufactured drone for the first time on 13 September. Russia and Iran signed an agreement on exporting Iranian aircraft and repairing Russian aircraft in late July.
