Russian Defence Ministry publishes list of 50 Ukrainian POWs killed at Olenivka prison near Donetsk

The Russian Defence Ministry has published a list of 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war killed at the Olenivka prison near Donetsk.

The list includes the names of 48 Ukrainian soldiers. Two more servicemen died on the way to the hospital, the ministry wrote. They are currently being identified.

Russia also published a list of 73 people injured at Olenivka. The ministry added that all injured soldiers are receiving medical care.

Yesterday, officials of the self-proclaimed Donetsk “people’s republic” (“DPR”) accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of conducting strikes on the former prison in the village of Olenivka, where Ukrainian soldiers were being held. According to the “first deputy minister of information of the DPR” Daniil Bezsonov, 53 people were killed in the strike and 75 were injured. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office reported that 40 people were killed and 130 were injured. Ukraine’s military intelligence agency stated that fighters of the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary organisation, were involved in the attack.
