Ukraine’s Sloviansk: six people killed following large-scale shelling

At least six people were killed and 15 injured following large-scale shelling on the Ukrainian town Sloviansk, Donetsk region, reports Ukraine’s national public broadcaster Suspilne, citing the spokeswoman of the Donetsk regional military administration Tatiana Ignatchenko.

According to Sloviansk’s mayor Vadym Lyakh, following the shelling 15 fires erupted in the town. He called the shelling “biggest in a while”. Furthermore, Ukrainian news outlet Strana.ua reported that a fire had erupted at Sloviansk’s main market.

Additionally, Ignatchenko said that three missiles had hit Kramatorsk, following the strike a hotel and a town road had been destroyed.

Yesterday, Lyakh reported that four civilians had been killed and seven injured by Russia's cluster munition in Sloviansk. He reminded that the town’s residents were recommended to use bomb shelters. According to him, 90% of the deceased and injured had been outside.

It is impossible to verify the information on casualties provided by the warring sides during an ongoing conflict.
