Four killed in Ukraine’s Sloviansk by Russia’s cluster munition

Four civilians were killed and seven were injured by Russia's cluster munition in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, says Vadym Lyakh, the town’s mayor.

“Yesterday’s evening was tough. A residential area with no military facilities whatsoever was shelled, we lost four people killed and seven injured,” Lyakh wrote on Facebook.

The town was shelled with cluster bombs, he says. “It appears as if it was fireworks, but it brings death. Such bombs do not totally destroy buildings, but they are very dangerous to people.” He also reminded that the town’s residents are recommended to use bomb shelters. “90% of the deceased were outside,” he says.

Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko reported earlier that 12 people had been injured in Sloviansk.

It is impossible to quickly check the official data on the victims during warfare.
