According to him, a series of “loud noises” could be heard at around 3 am in Belgorod. As a result, a fire erupted in a private residential building. Three people were killed and four injured, says the governor. There is a 10-year-old kid among the injured.

“We are looking into the causes, presumably, the air defence system got activated,” clarifies Gladkov.

Furthermore, 11 apartment buildings were partly destroyed, meanwhile at least 39 private houses got damaged. Gladkov and the mayor of Belgorod Anton Ivanov inspected some damaged houses personally, says the message.

“Today, contractors will take all necessary measurements and start on the repairs to the buildings. I will keep each house under my personal control until I get a written acceptance from the residents saying that all the damage has been restored and they don’t have objections to the quality of the repairs. I repeat: the citizens will receive all necessary help,” claims the governor.

Last week, a “yellow” terrorism threat level was extended in the region until 9 July. “I ask that you, my friends, be vigilant. Pay attention to what’s going on in the streets, in houses, in abandoned buildings, who comes into town, and how they behave”, Gladkov said back then.
