Yesterday, Mayor of Kremenchuk Vitalii Maletskyi reported that Russian forces had carried out missile strikes on a mall in Kremenchuk.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a big fire had started in the building. According to Zelensky, at the moment of the strikes over 1,000 civilians could have been inside the mall.

At the same time, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy called the strikes a “new provocation”.

“It seems we are witnessing a new provocation in the style of Bucha. We have to wait to see what our Defence Ministry says, but there are already too many glaring inconsistencies. This is exactly what the Kyiv regime needs to keep the focus on Ukraine right before the NATO summit,” wrote Polyanskiy.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has not yet officially commented on the missile strikes on Kremenchuk.
