Vitaly Savelyev, Russia’s Minister of Transport, says “western sanctions have almost ruined logistics in the country,” according to Interfax.
“The sanctions imposed against Russia have almost ruined the logistics in our country. We’re forced to find new ways to operate our transport corridors,” Savelyev told the press during his visit to the Astrakhan region. “The Caspian direction is an important part of the overall North-South transport corridor. There are lots of sea- and river ports out here, many bridges and highways, and we’ll need to find a way to reorganise their operation in order to adjust our logistics to the new conditions,” he said.
Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, said tha “Russia is used to sanctions” on 14 May. “We’re used to sanctions, in one way or another, there have always been sanctions. The Western countries are approving all kinds of hostile steps against Russia, including “direct robbery,” Lavrov said, adding that there is “cancel culture against everything Russian.”
