Stepan the Cat from Ukraine’s Kharkiv, famous for numerous viral videos, received an accolade at the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards 2022 event in Cannes, according to his Instagram.
The award ceremony in the Martinez hotel saw Stepan wearing a Ukraine-flag-coloured bow tie. He was accompanied by Khaby Lame, a renowned TikToker.
Stepan became popular on Instagram and TikTok for videos of him sitting with different drinks and music playing in the background. His video backed by Stevie Wonder’s I Just Called to Say I Love You was liked by almost 8 million people.
Stepan’s account was silent for a few weeks shortly after the Ukraine War had started. His owners were eventually found in France, where they are now raising money to help animals in Ukraine. They have already collected over $10,000.
