Seven civilians killed in attacks on Ukraine’s Donetsk region

Seven civilians have been killed in attacks on Ukraine’s Donetsk region over the past 24 hours, Donetsk regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said on his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, residents of the Bakhmut district, Avdiivka, Drobysheve and Soledar were killed in the attacks. Six residents of the Donetsk region were injured in the attacks. According to local emergency services, a projectile hit a five-storey residential building, injuring a nine-year-old child.

The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed an attack on the Donetsk region in the area of Soledar on 18 May. The ministry’s spokesman stated that “high-precision missiles” had struck “a territorial defence headquarters.”

Ukraine also reported a Russian missile strike on Mykolaiv today. One person was injured. Missile strikes on Dnipro and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) were also recorded over the past 24 hours, with two civilians killed in the attacks.
