No less than 229 children were killed in the Ukraine War, another 421 children were injured, says Ukraine’s Office of Prosecutor General.
140 child casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region; the Kyiv region suffered 116 child casualties. In the Kharkiv region, 100 children were killed or injured.
The Office notes that these figures are inconclusive and more precise data will follow.
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded 7,389 civilian casualties in the country as of 13 May: 3,573 killed and 3,816 injured, including 1,314 men, 855 women, 78 girls, and 94 boys, as well as 69 children and 1,163 adults whose sex is yet unknown.
