The West has declared “total hybrid war” on Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during the 30th Assembly of Russia’s Council of Foreign and Defence Policy, TASS reports.
“The collective West has declared total hybrid war on us, and it’s hard to predict how long it will last, but it’s clear that everyone without exception will feel its consequences,” Lavrov said, stressing that Russia “has done everything to avoid a direct confrontation.”
“We’re used to sanctions, in one way or another, there have always been sanctions,”
the foreign minister stressed.
Western countries are approving all kinds of hostile steps against Russia, including “direct robbery,” Lavrov said, adding that there is “cancel culture directed at everything Russian.”
Earlier, the Russian top diplomat stated that Russia has serious doubts about the “innocuousness” of Ukraine’s desire to join the EU. According to Lavrov, the EU “is already declaring its ambitions far beyond the European continent.”
Earlier, Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reported that since 2014, a total of 10,128 sanctions have been declared against Russia, with only 2,754 sanctions introduced before the war in Ukraine.
