Justin Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister, has arrived in Ukraine and is now in Irpin, says Oleksandr Markushin, the town mayor.
“He came to Irpin to see the nightmare Russian occupants had left after themselves — with his own eyes. Naturally, he was shocked. He saw burned and completely destroyed houses where people used to live, these people enjoyed their lives and had plans for the future,” says Markushin.
Markushin also said he was looking forward to Trudeau's support in organising the efforts of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada to restore infrastructure facilities in Irpin.
The US First Lady Jill Biden paid a visit to the Ukrainian city of Uzhhorod where she met Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska earlier today. The two women met in a school that is serving as a temporary shelter.
