Activist Roman Maksimov detained in Veliky Novgorod over Vesna case

Maksimov was detained in Veliky Novgorod and escorted to Moscow for interrogation over the Vesna case accused of ‘creating a non-commercial organisation aimed at depriving citizens of their rights.’

Vesna is a Russia-based liberal youth movement. The organisation’s officials say Maksimov is not their member.

“Maksimov was brought to Moscow for interrogation, just like Yevgeny Zateev and Valentin Khoroshenin, He is now in a holding cell in Petrovka Street,” they say.

Artyom Uimanen and his girlfriend Kamilla Dotsenko had their apartments searched in Saint Petersburg, Vesna says. Uimanen was detained for 2 days, accused of hoax bomb calls.
