The Russian Ministry of Justice has taken four coordinators of the Golos vote-monitoring movement, Vladimir Zhilkin, Alexander Lyutov, Alexander Grezev and Ilya Pigalkin, off the list of “foreign agents”, state news agency RIA Novosti reports.
“This is both expected and unexpected. I lodged a claim to remove my name from the register in early February, and the period of consideration stipulated by the law is now over. I have received no funding from abroad,” Grezev told Novaya Gazeta. Europe, commenting on his removal from the foreign agent list.
Last week, the Ministry of Justice removed two people from the foreign agent register for the first time ever. Golos board member Arkady Lyubarev and Lyudmila Kuzmina, chairwoman of the Samara branch of Golos, were taken off the list.
