‘DPR’ and ‘LPR’ appoint ambassadors to Russia

Denis Pushilin, head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk “people’s republic” (“DPR”) appointed Olga Makeeva as “DPR” ambassador to Russia, a decree published on the “DPR” website informs.

In his turn, head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk “people’s republic” (“LPR”) named Rodion Miroshnik as ambassador to Russia in a corresponding decree.

Both decrees enter into force today.

Olga Makeeva is a “DPR” politician who served as vice speaker of the republic’s parliament since October 2015. She also served as acting chairman of the parliament from September to November 2018.

Rodion Miroshnik served as press secretary of then-PM of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych from 2006 to 2007. In 2015, he was appointed as “LPR” representative to the Contact Group for settlement in eastern Ukraine.
