The Russian Ministry of Justice has added “A.C.A.B,” a song by Moscow punk rock band Ruki na Odeyalo, to the official register of extremist materials.
The song was released in 2006. The register also includes cover versions of the song by anarchist performers Politzek and Сhetverio.
A court in Russia’s Kaluga banned the song on March 1.
In March 2021, several teenagers were detained in Kaluga over “calls for extremism.” Criminal proceedings were launched over the publication of the ‘A.C.A.B.’ song in an anti-fascist group on VK. One suspect was placed under house arrest.
