An oil terminal in Makiivka, Donetsk region (currently under control of the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’) caught on fire today, a TASS reporter says. There are black plumes of fire over the oil terminal, numerous videos are being shared on social media.
Denis Pushilin, head of the pro-Russian breakaway DPR state claims the area was shelled by the Ukrainian army, this is yet to be confirmed. He also stated that one person was killed and two were injured.
A total of ten civilians were killed when Russia shelled a coke and chemical plant in Avdiivka yesterday, according to Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Donetsk governor, 15 more people were injured on this occasion. The Avdiivka Coke Plant had been previously shelled on 24 April and suffered severe damage.
