Over 5.5 mln people have left Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reports.
According to UNHCR, over 3 mln Ukrainians came to Poland, over 825,000 to Romania, and over 700,000 to Russia. The UN agency noted that in the period from February 18 to February 23, 105,000 people from the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions left for Russia.
According to the UN, over 653,000 people left Ukraine in February, compared to nearly 3.4 mln in March and over 1.5 mln in April.
Earlier, Novaya Gazeta. Europe estimated that the highest number of Ukrainian refugees have remained in the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Austria and Italy. Meanwhile, those who do not have the means to look for asylum in other states, remain in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova.
