The Kyiv Region Police have found a pit near Bucha with three male corpses in it, all three with numerous bruises and injuries. A video with the dead bodies was posted on a YouTube channel belonging to Andriy Nebitov, head of the local police.
“The deceased had been tortured shortly before they were killed, there are bullet wounds on their limbs as well. Each of the men was shot in his temple. What we found here is yet another mass grave the occupants dug in the vicinity of Bucha,” said Nebitov. His agency also noted that the bodies were found in Mirotske 9km away from Bucha.
Yesterday, the Bucha District Prosecutor's Office revealed the names of ten Russian servicemen suspected of "civilian brutal treatment and other violations of laws and wartime conventions" during the town’s occupation. “They took unarmed civilians hostage, starved them to death and thirst, kept them on their knees with their hands tied and their eyes glued, and humiliated them in order to find out the whereabouts of Ukrainian troops,” reads the statement.
Bucha, a town in the Kyiv Region, had been occupied by the Russian forces for over a month, since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February. The Russian Defence Ministry stated that Russian troops had left the town on 30 March. Numerous dead bodies of the local residents were found later.
Anatoly Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, stated on 23 April: “Exhumation and identification of the bodies is now complete. 412 dead bodies have been found so far, however, this number may change.”
