The Russian Defence Ministry stated that the UK had been provoking Ukraine to use British weapons and target the Russian infrastructure. "The advisers from one of the Western countries will not necessarily be a problem," according to RIA Novosti.
“Great Britain is provoking the Kyiv regime to start striking targets within Russia. Our side will respond immediately in the event of such a strike. As we have warned, the Russian army is able to execute long-range precision-guided strikes against decision-making centres in Kyiv,” reads the ministry’s statement, adding that "advisers from one of the Western countries will not necessarily be a problem.”
James Heappey, UK’s Defence Minister backed Ukraine’s right to launch attacks on Russia and said that it was “not necessarily a problem” for Ukraine to use British weapons to do so. He added that it is “completely legitimate for Ukraine to be targeting in Russia’s depth in order to disrupt the logistics that if they weren’t disrupted would directly contribute to death and carnage on Ukrainian soil”.
