Russian WW2 vets receive €120 ahead of Victory Day

20,320 WW2 veterans received their annual payouts of 10,000 rubles (€120) ahead of the upcoming Victory Day, according to the Russian Ministry of Labour.

“President’s decree provides all the veterans with a 10,000 rubles payout on Victory Day”, says minister Anton Kotyakov.

Around 33,200 veterans received such payouts last year. The decree on the annual payout of 10,000 rubles for WW2 veterans was signed by Vladimir Putin in 2019. The payout is provided to the Russian citizens who fought in WW2 and now reside in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
