Multiple explosions at Transnistria’s Ministry of State Security

There were multiple explosions today at the State Security Ministry of Transnistria, a pro-Russian self-proclaimed state internationally recognized as part of Moldova, according to TSV Pridnestrovie.

Emergency services are working at the explosion site in Tiraspol. The surrounding streets were closed.

Powerful blasts were heard in the area, according to a RIA Novosti reporter, and the windows of the neighbouring houses were smashed. Photos from the explosion site show objects similar to grenade launcher tubes abandoned on the ground. There is no information on potential casualties.

A Russian army official stated last week that Russia was planning to seize Ukraine's south and open a route to Transnistria. “We need to take the Ukrainian south under control and open a route to Transnistria, where the Russian-speaking population is being oppressed. It looks as if we are fighting against the entire world, just like in the Great Patriotic War when Europe and the whole world were against us. It happens again, they’ve always hated Russia,” said Rustam Minnekayev, acting commander of Russia's Central Military District.
