Since the start of the war in Ukraine, 208 children were killed and 387 were injured, the office of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General informed.
The highest number of child casualties was recorded in the Donetsk Region (119), the Kyiv Region (113), and the Kharkiv Region (91).
These numbers are not final, as victims are still being identified in active combat zones, as well as in occupied and liberated areas, the office stated.
According to the prosecutor general’s office, 1,500 schools have been damaged in Ukraine since the start of the war, including 102 that were completely destroyed.
Yesterday, the Russian army announced its plans to take control over southern Ukraine and get access to Transnistria, where there are “facts of oppression of the Russian-speaking population.”
Rustam Minnekaev, deputy commander of Russia’s Central Military District, also stated the goals of the second stage of the war in Ukraine. According to him, the Russian army aims to establish full control over Donbass, which will provide a land corridor to Crimea.
