The Russian Ministry of Justice added several new people to their list of ‘media foreign agents’, including columnist Alexander Nevzorov and Echo of Moscow’s former editor-in-chief Alexei Venediktov.

Sociologist Viktor Vakhstein, LGBT rights activist Yaroslav Sirotkin, journalists Sergei Parkhomenko and Vladimir Voronov, as well as Radio Liberty authors Artur Asafiev and Yekaterina Lushnikova are also among the new entrants.
Vladimir Kara-Murza and Leonid Volkov, both heavy critics of Putin, were added to a different list of ‘individuals performing the functions of a foreign agent.’
Kara-Murza is now kept in a pre-trial detention centre for ‘spreading fake news about the Russian army’. The reason behind this is Vladimir’s speech at the Arizona House of Representatives in the US of 15 March 2022. He is now facing up to ten years in prison and pleads not guilty.
Journalist Yuri Dud, The Insider editor-in-chief Roman Dobrokhotov, and political scientist Ekaterina Schulmann were added to the list of ‘ media foreign agents’ last Friday.
