Moldova President Sandu: explosions in Transnistria ‘related to opposing forces in the region’
Maia Sandu, the President of Moldova, has stated that the recent explosions in Transnistria are, quote, “related to the opposing forces in this region,” according to RBK.
“To the best of our knowledge, the attempts to escalate this conflict trace their roots to the forces inside Transnistria. They support this war and are interested in destabilising the situation. We keep collecting the information,” she said.
Vadim Krasnoselsky, the head of Transnistria, a self-proclaimed pro-Russian breakaway state internationally recognized as part of Moldova, reported three terror attacks earlier. Those aimed at the building of the State Security Ministry in Tiraspol, a military base near the locality of Parkany and two TV/radio towers near the locality of Mayak. The local security council announced ‘red terrorist alert’ this morning, cancelling the Victory Day military display and setting up checkpoints at the city entrances.
