Missiles hit Uman, injure eight

Uman in Ukraine’s Cherkasy region suffered a missile strike; eight people were injured, two of them are in grave condition, Ukraine’s Office of Prosecutor General reports.

“According to the investigation, on 8 June 2023, at about 20:00, the Russian armed forces launched missile attacks on the city of Uman. One of the missiles hit a local car wash, the other damaged a civilian enterprise. The supermarket next to the car wash was also damaged,” the prosecutor’s office said.

There are no military facilities nearby. Preliminary indications are that Calibre missiles were used in the attack.

The Cherkasy regional prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal investigation on the account of violation of warfare laws and customs.

Vladimir Rogov, a Russia-installed “official” in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, claims that a munitions warehouse was targeted in Uman.

Air raid alert was declared Ukraine-wide overnight. Media reported air defence systems working in the regions of Rivne, Zhytomyr, Volyn, and Lviv.

Ukraine’s Command of the Air Force reported destroying four Kh-101/X-55 cruise missiles, 10 Shahed-136/131 strike drones, a Lancet drone and four Orlan-10 operational-tactical UAVs.
