Chechnya Governor Ramzan Kadyrov's son, Adam Kadyrov, has launched a personal energy drink brand called K-13, according to independent outlets Caucasian Knot and Verstka.

Ramzan Kadyrov promoted the product last week in a Telegram video filmed at the grand opening of a hypermarket in the regional capital, Grozny, where he was seen sampling the drink. Chechen Parliament Speaker Magomed Daudov can be heard in the video calling it the "very best energy drink”.

The K-13 logo closely resembles that of Monster energy drinks, with green lines forming the brand name.

In 2012, Ramzan Kadyrov himself called energy drinks "stupefying agents" unacceptable for Muslim society. The following year, Chechnya's parliament introduced fines for their sale, though the law was softened in 2018.

According to Verstka, production and distribution of the drink will be handled by two companies owned by businessman Islam Visaliyev, who is reportedly acting as a front for the Kadyrov family.
