Three people were killed and another 13 were injured in a series of Russian drone strikes on the city of Zaporizhzhia in southeastern Ukraine on Friday evening, Governor Ivan Fedorov has confirmed.
Fedorov said that the Russians had used 214 drones to attack the city, as well as the wider region, and that a 14-year-old girl had been among those killed.
A Ukrainian drone struck an apartment building in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don early on Saturday, causing an explosion on the 17th floor, according to Yury Slyusar, the acting governor of the Rostov region, who added that two people has been hospitalised, while other residents had received medical treatment at the site of the attack
The explosion caused by the drone damaged the façade of the building and six apartments, while windows and window frames were broken on several floors. Slyusar said attempted drone strikes elsewhere in the city had been repelled and that there had been no further injuries reported.
The Russian Defence Ministry said that its air defence systems had shot down 47 drones overnight over the Voronezh, Belgorod, Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Bryansk, Kursk and Samara regions, as well as over the Black Sea and Azov Sea.
