Bodies of 160 Russian servicemen killed in Ukraine returned to Russia

Ukraine earlier reported getting back 62 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen

Russia has got back 160 bodies of Russian servicemen killed in Ukraine, as per what the State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliev told media outlet RBC.

According to Saraliev, who heads the corresponding coordination group within the Russian Parliament, the swap took place on Friday, 14 July. It was carried out by Russia’s Defence Ministry, which is yet to confirm this information.

Earlier on Friday, Ukraine’s Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances Oleh Kotenko reported that 62 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen had been returned from the territories occupied by Russia.

The two countries regularly report swapping bodies of servicemen killed during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia. On 23 June, Ukraine’s Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories said in a statement that 51 bodies of killed Ukrainian service members had been brought home.
