Local authorities: missile hits civilian vehicle in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, killing two

Two volunteers, a 42-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, have been killed in an attack on the village of Huriv Kozachok, Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, head of the regional administration Oleh Synyehubov reports.

“A Russian anti-tank guided missile hit a civilian car which was moving towards the aforementioned settlement,” he claims.

Earlier, head of the Dnipro region Serhiy Lysak reported that the Russian army shelled Nikopol and Marhanets overnight.

“A public utility provider and eight private houses are damaged in the town. Household outbuildings and power lines are wrecked,” he wrote.

Moreover, towns and settlements in the Donetsk region were targeted, head of the regional administration Pavlo Kyrylenko noted. In particular, Vuhledar and its neighbourhoods were shelled 20 times by Russian forces, the village of New York and Toretsk and several other villages were hit. The attack killed one person, private houses, apartment buildings, and administrative offices were damaged. A school in Toretsk was also struck.

The Kherson regional prosecution reported that two people were killed in shelling in the past 24 hours, while 25 more were injured.

It is claimed that Russian forces shelled towns and villages of the Kherson region 75 times on 16 June, firing 314 projectiles and using artillery, mortars, Grad missile launchers, and drones.
