Explosion reported near Three Sisters monument located on border between Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine

An explosion has occurred near the Three Sisters monument which is located at the crossroads of the Russian, Belarusian, and Ukrainian borders, as per the Ukrainian border service.

The statement claims that the explosion was carried out by Russians to prevent the passing of Ukrainian military equipment into Russian territory.

A representative of the service, Andriy Demchenko, told Ukrainian Pravda that the explosion had occurred yesterday, 30 May. The blown up road connects Ukraine’s Chernihiv and Russia’s Bryansk.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak has also commented on the situation. “The Russians are blowing up the border roads they were using to ‘capture Kyiv in three days.’”

Russia and Belarus have not yet commented on the situation.

The Three Sisters monument was erected on the border between Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine in 1975 as a symbol of friendship between the three nations.
