Two killed in shelling of Russia’s Belgorod region

Two local residents have been killed in the village of Nizhnee Berezovo, Russia’s Belgorod region located on the Ukrainian border, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.

“Two people died, one is in critical condition and being taken to hospital. The Ukrainian army killed civilians when they were in their vegetable garden, planting potatoes,” Gladkov wrote.

Earlier, the village of Dronovka also located in the Belgorod region was shelled, no one was injured. The local authorities say that gas pipelines and power lines were damaged.

On 17 May, a man stepped on an anti-personnel mine in the village of Cheremoshnoye. “A local resident was moving grass, stepped on a mine, and lost his right foot as a result,” Gladkov noted.
