One person killed, two injured in missile attack on Odesa region of Ukraine

One person has been killed and two local residents have been injured in a missile attack carried out on the Odesa region of Ukraine, as per the Odesa region prosecutor’s office.

“In the early hours of 8 May, Russian soldiers, using the means of war banned by international law, carried out missile strikes against civilian and tourist infrastructure facilities in settlements of the Odesa and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts,” the statement reads.

In the Odesa district, a missile blew up in the territory of a food enterprise warehouse. One person was killed and two injured in the attack. A three-storey building was destroyed.

In the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, a recreation centre was completely destroyed in one of the resort villages. At least five recreation centres and over 20 private houses were damaged in the nearby villages.

According to initial reports, the attack was carried out using Kh-22 missiles. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated on violating laws and customs of war.
