Moldova PM: Putin banned from entering country

Russia’s president Vladimir Putin is banned from entering Moldova, Dorin Recean, the country’s Prime Minister, has said in an interview for TV8.

Recean says Moldova has a “black list” of Russian nationals who cannot enter the country. He also noted that some officials only find out they are banned once they attempt crossing the Moldovan border.

“At some point we shall make this list publicly available, but so far the mechanism that works now is enough for us. I’m not sure if we need to spend public money on compiling a public list,” Recean says.

He also added that “none of the people banned from entering Moldova did actually get into the country”.

“We shall shut up everyone who’s into propaganda and warmongering,” Recean said.

The Hague International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the Russian president Vladimir Putin on 17 March.
