Odesa authorities: 14 Shahed drones downed overnight

Russia’s military attacked Ukraine’s Odesa with drones last night, says Yury Kruk, a local official.

“The enemy executed strikes on the Odesa area with UAVs. The air defence took some of those down,” he stated.

According to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, the air defence managed to destroy 14 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones that were used in the attack.

“A total of up to 17 launches of combat drones was recorded, presumably from the eastern shore of the Sea of Azov,” reads the statement.

Suspilne reported several explosions in Odesa, the earliest on 01.14 a.m. local time, which caused a fire.

Russia’s military attempted an attack on Kyiv using Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones on 28 March; Ukraine’s air defence managed to take down all 10 targets, as per Serhiy Popko, head of the local city hall.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces later reported that a total of 13 targets were taken down: 12 Shahed-136/13 drones and one reconnaissance and surveillance Granat-4 UAV.
