Russian man fined for discussing his previous fine for sharing his dream about Zelensky

The Central District Court in the city of Chita has fined local resident Ivan Losev 35,000 rubles (€455) twice for talking to TV Rain and BBC about the fine he had previously received for sharing his dream about Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Instagram, Mediazona reports, citing Losev.

Losev was found guilty of two episodes of “discrediting” the Russian army. The first protocol against him was drawn up for sharing the BBC’s interview with him on his Instagram and the second for his interview with TV Rain.

Losev previously told media outlet Sibir.Realii that the protocols had been drawn up against him due to complaints. “Two separate women denounced me: one from the Primorsky region, the other, I think, is from Chita. The first one didn’t like my interview aired on TV Rain. The other didn’t like the BBC video I shared on my page. Both [denunciations] will turn into administrative cases”, he said.

In December 2022, Losev was fined 30,000 rubles (€390) under the article on “discrediting” Russia’s Armed Forces after he had recounted his dream about Zelensky on Instagram.

“Today I dreamt that I got mobilised, brought to some training camp, and at that moment Ukraine’s Armed Forces broke into there, led by Zelensky. Everyone gets captured, about to be shot, and at that moment Zelensky walks by me and says: ‘Oh, I saw your Insta stories, Glory to Ukraine!’ And I tell him: ‘Glory to Heroes!’ Zelensky happily taps me on the shoulder and says: ‘Ok, let this one go, shoot everyone else.’ And so we stand there, watching the proceedings, and I tell him: ‘Can I take a selfie with you for my Instagram?’ And Zelensky says: ‘You can,’” was the plot of the dream shared by Losev on his Instagram.

In January, his mother Nelli Loseva was also fined for liking a social media post which talked about mobilised soldiers being killed in Ukraine.
