Ukraine’s Donetsk region chief: two dead, four injured in shelling at night

Two people have been killed, four more have been injured in the shelling at night in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, head of the region’s military administration Pavlo Kyrylenko reported.

“The Russians continued to fire all along the frontline last night. One person has been killed, four have been injured in the direction of Donetsk after Kurakhove was shelled, a projectile hit an five-storey apartment block. One person was killed in the Soledar community’s Blahodatne,” Kyrylenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

Moreover, Kostiantynivka was shelled as well. Kyrylenko noted that the shells had landed in the industrial area next to a school, no one was injured. Meanwhile, a historical building in downtown Bakhmut was damaged.

On 3 January, the Altair ice arena was destroyed in a missile strike on Druzhkivka, Donetsk region.

“This is the third home which the Donetsk [ice hockey] club has lost because of the Russian occupants: the Druzhba sports arena, Mariupol Ice Center, and now Altair,” the club statement reads.
