A military court in Tomsk has issued a two-year suspended sentence for Azim Yakubov, a junior sergeant with the Russian army, for a lethal car accident, as per the Siberian courts PR office.
The man was found guilty of a driving offence that caused death.
“The serviceman, while driving a car, crossed into the oncoming lane and hit another car. The driver of the second car suffered grave injuries which caused him to die,” reads the statement.
After Yakubov’s suspended sentence is over, he will be on probation for two more years.
A court in Kemerovo sent a National Guard soldier to a pre-trial facility for two months for knocking down and killing a girl, 12, while driving. According to Tayga.Info, the man was drunk and left the scene.
