Putin arrives in Minsk for the first time since 2019 to hold talks with Lukashenka

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in the Belarusian capital Minsk for negotiations with Alyaksandar Lukashenka, the Kremlin press service reports.

This is Putin’s first visit to Belarus since 2019. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu also arrived in Minsk today.

The Kremlin press service announced that there are plans to discuss “key issues of further development of Russia-Belarus relations” and “current issues of the international and regional agenda” during the negotiations.
