Ukraine reports two killed by Russia’s missile strike in Zaporizhzhia region, explosions heard in four more regions

Two individuals were killed by Russia’s missile strike in Novosofiyivka, Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, says Oleksandr Starukh, the local governor.

Three people were injured, including a child born in 2021. Numerous residential buildings were damaged.

Residents in the regions of Kherson, Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Poltava have reported sounds of explosions, Suspilne says.

Vitali Kim, the mayor of Mykolaiv, reported on his Telegram channel that the Russian military had launched two waves of missiles towards Ukraine. Yuriy Ignat, a representative of Ukraine’s Air Force, reported Russia launching missiles from the area near Volgodonsk in the Rostov region and from the Black Sea.

Air raid alert was sounded in all regions of Ukraine except for the annexed Crimea at 14.45 Kyiv time today.

Ukrenergo, the country’s power giant, has reported that energy infrastructure facilities were hit during Russia’s eighth massive missile attack. The company has also reported emergency blackouts across the country.
